Crumbles and Cobblers

I'm over at Garlic and Sapphire, Sarah Raven's blog today, talking crumbles and cobblers - and we are having just the cold snap to really enjoy delicious warm, fruity puds don't you think? They are one of the joys of autumn and winter, and there are a few little tweaks I have been trying, so please click here and join in the conversation. I would LOVE to hear your favourite flavours and tips - just leave them in the comment section over there, it would be great to collect together a bunch of ideas for winter puds to see us all through the cold, dark days of winter! Thank you, Bx

Talking alliums on the Sarah Raven blog

Hi lovelies, I am over at the Sarah Raven blog, Garlic and Sapphire today, talking about one of my favourite garden stalwarts, alliums. If you haven't tried growing them and want some low/no maintenance, drop dead gorgeous glamour of the pink-purple-white variety in your garden from about May to September, then alliums are your new best friend. There are a bunch of different ones I rely on for different sizes and colours, so pop over for some top tips and photos by way of a guide. You can still plant them now for a display to knock your socks off in 2013. If you have grown any with success or have some favourites I haven't mentioned, please leave your comments over there, I'd love to know what has worked for you, and perhaps discover some new ones to tempt me! Thanks. xx

Wild Acre on Sarah Raven's blog, Garlic and Sapphire

You know how I love my cutting patch, and you know how much I enjoy cut flowers, so you can imagine how delighted I was when I was asked if I would like to be on the writing team for Sarah Raven's blog, Garlic and Sapphire. It was actually going to one of Sarah's workshops that first made me believe I could grow my own flowers for cutting and her books have been my cutting patch bibles, so I am thrilled to bits to share my take on growing flowers and creating a productive garden on her blog.

My first blog post there has just gone live (eeek!), and I have included lots of info about sowing annual flower seed now for lots of beautiful flowers next summer. It is such an easy way to enjoy great bucketfuls of flowers for just a few pounds. It is always a little nerve wracking writing on some-one else's blog, let alone the blog of your all-time flower heroine, so I would be hugely delighted if you would be kind enough to hop over HERE and have a look-see! If you left a wee comment I would dance around my kitchen table!!:) You  think I'm joking? Thank you, Bxx
