Apparently snow is on its way, but there was some lovely sunshine this weekend, so I pootled about in it, despite the bitter cold, walking the dog and taking a few pictures.
Down on the water meadows, a low slung sunset seemed to set the reeds on fire.
As the sun sank lower, the landscape slid into purples and deep blues, and the sky began to get that slight yellow-y glow that suggests snow on the way. We will see.
We have things other than weather on our minds here. Our sixteen year old broke his collarbone last week, and has surgery on it on tuesday, to pin it back together. Seeing your child slip into unconsciousness, whether via anaesthetic or not, is one of my least favourite things in the world, so I am not looking forward to it, but it must be done. So apologies for sketchy appearances here in this first half of January, life here is concentrated around my boy for the time being. xx

So sorry about the collar bone, altho it does mean that his shoulder was (somewhat) spared and everything worked as it should have. Hopehe does well, and perhaps is something of a hero at school.
ReplyDeleteReally like your new header photo. Hang in there. All will be well.

As ever, Webb, your words hit the spot. Will hold onto them the next few days. Xx

Ohhh no. Poor love. Hope it goes well. Xxxx
ReplyDeleteThanks. Surgery and my kids in the same breath gives me the wobbles, but has to be done. xx
DeleteFab new header- love it. Be strong when the anaesthetic starts to work, it really is a very upsetting thing to see and hope the pinning goes without a hitch. Stock up on treats for both of you for after the op!

I have only been through it once and howled with the nurse outside the theatre! Hopeless. Will try and be more composed this time. xx
